Pond-Grainger Performing Arts

Established 1980

PGPA is a part time performing arts school offering weekly classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Cheerleading for all ages and abilities.

As a community dance school our aim is to provide a safe and happy family environment in which our students can grow in confidence and ability through team work and a passion for performing.

Many pupils take part in at least four shows a year including our full scale annual show. Over the years we have raised thousands of pounds for many well known and local charities.

Examinations in all dance disciplines are held twice a year.

We are extremely proud of our reputation and achievements, many pupils have performed in professional pantomimes, charity galas, festivals and competitions at well known theatres including:

The London Palladium (8 times) Royal Albert Hall (4 times) Sadlers Wells (3 times) Her Majesty’s (5 times), Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Richmond Theatre, Wimbledon Theatre, Theatre Royal Windsor, New Victoria Woking, Guildford Civic Hall, Victoria Palace London, New London Covent Garden, Leatherhead Theatre, Shaftesbury Theatre, Basingstoke Theatre, and Indigo at the O2.

We have competed in The All England Dance Finals several times and performed at Disneyland Paris seven times.

We were very honoured to be invited to dance for the Queen’s 90th Birthday celebrations in Windsor in 2015.

BBC Surrey have aired our drama pupils singing carols throughout a couple of Christmas seasons as part of their engagement with local singing groups.

Past students have gone on to further training and danced professionally,

and many are now fully qualified dance teachers.
