Pond-Grainger Performing Arts
Established 1980
PGPA is a part
time performing arts school offering weekly classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz,
Musical Theatre and Cheerleading for all ages and abilities. As a community
dance school our aim is to provide a safe and happy family environment in
which our students can grow in confidence and ability through team work and a
passion for performing. Many pupils take
part in at least four shows a year including our full scale annual show. Over
the years we have raised thousands of pounds for many well known and local
charities. Examinations in
all dance disciplines are held twice a year. We are extremely
proud of our reputation and achievements, many pupils have performed in
professional pantomimes, charity galas, festivals and competitions at well
known theatres including: The London
Palladium (8 times) Royal Albert Hall (4 times) Sadlers
Wells (3 times) Her Majesty’s (5 times), Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Richmond
Theatre, Wimbledon Theatre, Theatre Royal Windsor, New Victoria Woking,
Guildford Civic Hall, Victoria Palace London, New London Covent Garden,
Leatherhead Theatre, Shaftesbury Theatre, Basingstoke
Theatre, and Indigo at the O2. We have competed
in The All We were very
honoured to be invited to dance for the Queen’s 90th Birthday celebrations in
BBC Surrey have aired our drama pupils singing carols throughout a
couple of Christmas seasons as part of their engagement with local singing
groups. Past students
have gone on to further training and danced professionally, and many are now
fully qualified dance teachers. |
